Whoever called my mom's hospital, and I'm pretty sure I know who you are, and left a voice mail with one of the supervisors saying she steals prescription pads and writes out prescriptions for people, you have just made my shit list.
By the by, no one believed you for a moment. Current Mood: angry

|Back on track.
I got the paper application turned in at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital today. I should be getting a call Friday about my start date and when I go for orientation. I am so ready for this new job.
After I got that mess sorted out, me and my mom went to the Chinese buffet down Gratiot. Barged out on chicken and seafood in various sauces.
I'm thinking about heading out to Necto tonight and dancing off the calories. I think I'll give Frankie a call. Current Mood: cheerful

|For The Love Of God.
For The Love Of God.
For the Love of God is a sculpture by artist Damien Hirst produced in 2007. It consists of a platinum cast of a human skull encrusted with 8,601 flawless diamonds, including a pear-shaped pink diamond located in the forehead of the skull. Costing £14 million to produce, the work went on display at the White Cube gallery in London at an asking price of £50 million, which would have been the highest price ever paid for a single work by a living artist.
The human skull used as the base for the work, bought in a shop in Islington, is thought to be that of a European living between 1720 and 1810.. The work's title was supposedly inspired by his mother, who once asked, "For the love of God, what are you going to do next?"
8,601 flawless pavé diamonds, weighing in total 1,106.18 carats, over a platinum cast, cover the entirety of the skull, with the exception of the original teeth of the skull. At the centre of the forehead lies a pear-shaped pink diamond, the centrepiece of the work. All diamonds used for the work were ethically sourced.
On 1 June 2007, the work went on display in an illuminated glass case in a darkened room on the top floor of the White Cube gallery in St James's, London with heavy security. It was reported on 11 June 2007 that the singer George Michael and his partner Kenny Goss were interested in purchasing the piece for around £50 million.
Spiritus Callidus 2
by John Lekay, 1993, crystal skull
Hirst stated the idea for the work came from a turquoise skull of Aztec origin at the British Museum.
Artist John LeKay, a friend of Hirst's in the early 1990s, claims the work is based on a skull covered with crystals, which LeKay had made in 1993. LeKay said, "When I heard he was doing it, I felt like I was being punched in the gut. When I saw the image online, I felt that a part of me was in the piece. I was a bit shocked."
A photo of the work thrown out with rubbish bags outside the White Cube gallery was a spoof by an artist "Laura" who created a replica skull with 6522 Swarovski crystals.
I want one!

|Get with the freaking program!
So, 2 weeks after accepting the Unit Coordinator position at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, I still have not heard back from them reguarding my background check. I just called the human resources dept. and they said they could not find my application. I was supposed to have been E-mailed another one, but that has not happened. So, I'm waiting on another one to be E-mailed. And if this one does not show up, I'm going down there first thing Monday morning and inflicting such order upon the chaos that seems to be their human resources dept. I mean really, how do you lose a big blue piece of card paper? I know I filled it out and put it in the hand of the desk person. If they gave my job away to someone else because of their own incompetence, I'm not sure how I will react. Current Mood: annoyed

It was weird seeing this just driving down Gratiot right by my house. I don't live in a wealthy area or anything. I considered it a omen of luck. A slice of 580 horsepower orange sunshine. Yeah, I loved the color too.

|I need a change.
Life is feeling like dry turkey and bland yellow gravy right now. And I hunger for spicy cajun delight!
I have a job interview at Henry Ford Macomb hospital on Monday morning. I'm not getting my hopes up. Rejection stings less that way. I don't know. Apparently, some people think I have turned my life around. Dosn't quite feel like that but whatever. I guess I'm doing better than some. I need to take that NAHUC exam soon to become certified as a unit coordinator. I love externing at St. John in Detroit. By the my final week there I was running the nursing unit by myself and BEING THANKED for my help. I have been studying but I don't want to pay $175.00 to fail. And it seems the only way I can afford to go back to school is to have a hospital pay for it. Loans are out of the question.
I'm looking forward to DEMF this year. Good times, good music, with good friends. Can't beat that can you? I have made several new friends the past few months. It will be interesting to get to know them better and see what kind of people they really are. The bar scene is getting kind of tired. Not that that will stop me from going out for a drink. Oh no. Thats crazy talk. I friend of mine made a point over thai food once. For people our age, there really isn't anything else to do at night. Old people go play bingo. We go to nightclubs. Current Mood: blah
